Job-Action
Regular career fair visits are made more sustainable and focussed through an action bundle prepared in advance. The students are given tasks for which they can collect points and, in this way, come into more comprehensive contact and dialogue with companies. The results can also be retrieved for follow-up and analysed together.
The core content of this reality check is a more meaningful and sustainable organisation of a trade fair visit for pupils. The scavenger hunt app “Actionbound” is used as a method. In addition, an existing careers fair can/should be selected. Ideally, the exhibiting companies and institutions are known in advance.

Implementation
Step-by-step
Final preparation: Getting the students in the mood for the upcoming trade fair visit. It must be ensured that all students have the “Actionbound” app installed on their devices.
Visit to the fair: On the day of the fair, the students participate in the fair with the help of the digital Actionbound. Their task is to come into contact with companies and professions by playing the digital scavenger hunt. We recommend forming groups of up to four people. Different sections can be divided into each group within the Action Bound to equalise the situation.
Involved professions
Teachers, possibly social workers, careers counsellors, various companies with skilled workers.
Preparation & follow-up
Preparation:
Selection of a careers fair: the person organising the event selects an existing careers fair. Ideally, the exhibiting companies and institutions are known in advance. Based on this, contact can be made with some companies to collect possible content and questions for the digital scavenger hunt. Selection of the target group: Selection of a class/target group for the fair and subsequent registration. Beforehand, discussing with the students what information they would like to receive from potential employers for an apprenticeship or internship makes sense.
Creating an actionbound: a digital scavenger hunt is made using the “Actionbound” app with content from the upcoming careers fair. At best, the students’ interests queried in the previous step are incorporated. Helpful content from the “Actionbound” app can be, for example, multiple-choice, numerical value estimation, answer entry, and photo upload. It makes sense to consult with companies in advance, as the exhibiting employees are not necessarily informed about every area of the company.
Follow-up
Evaluation and feedback: The Action Bound results are evaluated with the students. In addition, it is recommended to have the students fill out a feedback form on the selected “reality check”.

Evaluation
Content evaluation: The content of the RealityCheck is evaluated with the students after the trade fair visit. This is done by accessing the results digitally on the “Actionbound” website.
Feedback: The students receive a (digital) questionnaire to give feedback on the method and support for their career choice.
